3D Printing Services in Florida: Prices, Shipping and What to Know

6 min readBy Mandarin 3D

For 3D printing in Florida, upload a model to an online service, get an instant price and have the parts mailed to you. Mandarin 3D prints in Jacksonville and ships PLA parts anywhere in the state by USPS; small parts quoted at $9.24 to $15.24 delivered on November 5, 2026, before tax.

Florida has makerspaces, library printers and a few local shops, but most of them want you to show up, book time or wait for a manual quote. If you already know what you need, the simplest route is usually a file, a price and a mailbox. Here's what that costs, what PLA can and can't do in Florida weather, and what to have ready.

What it costs

Real quotes from our quote API on November 5, 2026, one piece each in PLA, shipped by USPS Ground Advantage, before tax:

Plant pot with saucer203 x 100 x 90 mm94.4 g131 min$15.24

The price is $3.50 per order + $0.045 per gram + $0.60 per print hour + postage by weight. Postage is a flat price by package weight, so it costs the same to ship to Key West as to Fernandina Beach. Most of a small order is the order fee and postage, which you pay once, so extra copies are cheap:

OrderDelivered
1 wall hook$9.70
4 wall hooks$11.99
2 replacement knobs$10.05
10 single cable clips$11.31
4 shelf brackets$15.53

Options are per order: rush (+50% of the print price, printed within 1 business day, $2.10 on the wall hook), a file check (+$5, we look at printability and fit before printing), cleanup (+$5, support marks sanded) and extra colors (+$3 each). See pricing for the full formula.

How long it takes

Ordering now: Printing starts Fri, Nov 6, at your door by Fri, Nov 13. Every order ships by USPS Ground Advantage with tracking, including orders in Jacksonville. The quote page shows the current dates before you pay, so you know when it arrives before you commit.

PLA in Florida weather

We print in PLA only. It is stiff, holds detail well and comes in the stocked colors (black, white, gray, red, blue, green). For indoor parts it is the right material. Florida adds two things to think about.

Heat. PLA starts to soften around 55-60 °C (131-140 °F). A closed car in Florida summer sun passes that inside, and a dashboard gets hotter still. So:

  • Fine: desks, shelves, walls, closets, the kitchen away from the stove, air-conditioned garages and workshops.
  • Not fine: dashboards, phone mounts in the windshield, anything left in a parked car, dark parts in direct sun on a pool deck, a car part under the hood.
  • Borderline: a covered lanai or a screened porch. Shade is usually fine; a dark part in afternoon sun is not.

If the part lives outdoors in the sun or in a car, PLA is the wrong material, so don't order it for that job.

Humidity. Humid air matters to filament before it is printed, not much to the finished part. A printed PLA part on a shelf in a humid Florida house holds its shape. Our humidity guide has the details.

Good fits

Parts that work well in PLA and ship well:

What to have ready

  1. A file, if you have one. STL, 3MF or STEP, up to 100 MB. The quote slices it with the settings we print with and shows grams, print time and the delivered price.
  2. The size that matters. Each part can be up to 250 x 250 x 250 mm. Bigger things get split into parts.
  3. Measurements, if it has to fit. Use calipers, not a ruler, and leave clearance: 0.2-0.3 mm for a sliding fit. Our tolerance guide has a table.
  4. No file? Pick a part from the catalog and change the name or size, or describe it to the AI designer and check the 3D model before ordering.

Local shop or online?

A local shop or makerspace makes sense when you want to talk it through in person, need a material we don't print (resin, nylon, metal) or want to learn to print yourself. Many Florida libraries and colleges have printers you can book.

An online service makes sense when you have a file or a clear idea, want a price now, and are happy to wait a few days for the mail. You also see the price before anyone spends time on it, which is hard to get from a shop that quotes by email.

Questions

Is there a 3D printing service in Florida?

Yes. Mandarin 3D prints in Jacksonville and ships custom PLA parts anywhere in Florida and the rest of the US by USPS Ground Advantage. Upload an STL, 3MF or STEP file and the price shows in seconds, with no account.

How much does 3D printing cost in Florida?

At Mandarin 3D small parts quoted at $9.24 to $15.24 delivered on Nov 5, 2026, before tax: $3.50 per order, $0.045 per gram, $0.60 per print hour and USPS postage by weight. Postage is the same to Miami, Tampa or Pensacola.

Can PLA parts handle the Florida heat?

Indoors, yes. PLA softens around 55-60 °C, and a closed car in Florida sun gets hotter than that, so keep PLA parts off dashboards, out of parked cars and off dark surfaces in direct sun.

What if I don't have a 3D file?

Use the catalog for ready-made parts you change in one click (a name, a size), or describe the part to the AI designer and check the 3D model before you order.
